It's been a long day, much of it shelling peas from my garden before they went bad. It sure takes a long time to fill a little quart bag! It didn't leave much time for home repair, but I promised myself that I'd do at least one thing on the house every day (except for Sunday, of coarse), so I pried up one very small piece of tackless strip (that holds the carpet down). It, too was installed over the carpet, but when I pried everything up I found another surprise - it was all laid over linoleum! I guess they didn't believe in removing the old flooring. It's kind of interesting to see all the old styles of flooring though. Memories of the 80's keep intruding on my mind... Definitely time for bed!
